I have a number of these as extra, but I learned that it has been discontinued, thus no scent story before the notes.

Scent Name: Velvet Tiger

Manufacturer:  Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab – The Salon April Fool’s Exhibit (4/1/09-6/1/09): Velvet Paintings

Scent Description and Notes: Spiced Satsuma orange, tangerine, rich amber, black licorice, teak, cinnamon, and vetiver.” – BPAL

Oil Color: A slightly ruddied orange.

Bottle Design and Artwork:  This is a standard vial / imp size (1/32 oz).  I received this in an order from someone onthe forum.  The scent was originally decanted by Linaeve, as it is nicely printed in black by the decator.  The front label also features and interesting looking Celtic star as the emblem of the individual (I assume). The back side of the label features the text in black, larger font with the scent notes listed beneath.  The image below is the artwork used on the original bottles of Velvet Tiger.

Scent:

  • In the Imp (ITI): I initially get the scent of lightly candied oranges and tangerines.  There is a bit of spiciness from the cinnamon and just a touch of woodiness from the teak.  It’s an interesting scent so far.
  • Wet:On my skin, the teak and amber begin to make themselves known, but there entrance is flanked my the candied citrus, the cinnamon, and the sweetly spicy licorice.  There is the faintest hint of vetiver, but not enough to pull the scent in any one direction.  I like it so far.
  • Dry:  Yum!  Sweet amber that hasn’t turned to powder with hints of orange, tangerine, and cinnamon.  It’s delicious on my skin.  Hmm, getting more might be troublesome though.
Other Impressions: Husband’s response:  “Mmm, kinda orangey.  I like it.”
