Scent Name: Jester
Manufacturer: Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab – Illyria; discontinued 8/13/10
Scent Description and Notes: “Huckleberry and red currant with the incisive bite of neroli..” -BPAL
Oil Color: Jester has nearly the same color quality as Tweedledum, but it has more of a faint yellowish green cast than the honeyed yellow of Tweedledum.
Bottle Design and Artwork: This is a standard vial / imp size (1/32 oz). The label wrapped around the bottle features an Art-Deco inspired Phoenix with the the name of the company at the bottle of the image. On the other side, the title of the scent written in large, clear black font outlined with red on the front.
- In the Imp (ITI): Sweet, artificial red currant is all I smell on my skin. It’s a bit too artificial for me at this point. It may just be that I have berry high expectations for my berry scent, but the artificiality makes me smell like candy.
- Wet: Red currant candy drops, similar to the newly flavored cough drops. There is a little huckleberry there, but the neroli seems absent while wet.
- Dry: Red currant with slightly more sour huckleberry and a hint of menthol and a little incense for some reason (that might be the neroli). It’s still a bit too sweet for me, but it is a pleasant scent.
Other Impressions: It smells like a thing before, but he can’t place it. Maybe one of those jelly candles.
