Scent Name: Nero

Manufacturer: Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab –  Sin and Salvation; discontinued in 2012

Scent Description and Notes: “The pinnacle of power, poisoned by sin and indulgence – this is our homage to Classical Roman debauch.

Rosemary, bay, pine and a touch of lemon.” -BPAL

Oil Color: A light lemon color with a touch of orange.

Bottle Design and Artwork: This is a standard vial / imp size (1/32 oz). The label wrapped around the bottle features an Art-Deco inspired Phoenix with the the name of the company at the bottle of the image. On the other side, the title of the scent written in large, clear black font outlined with red on the front.


  • ITI: Super strong Christmas-y pine with a touch of rosemary. 
  • Wet: A bit stronger pine (less Christmas), still the same intensity of rosemary. I’m getting just a hint of bay at the end. 
  • Dry: (2.5 hours) Lemony rosemary and bay with a touch of pine. Not quite the madly fiddling Nero, but I imagine this would be him in the smoldering ash. 

Other Impressions: I’m sad this was discontinued.  I love intense pine scents.
