Manufacturer:  Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab – The Miskatonic Valley Yuletide Faire, 2009

Scent Description and Notes: Fit for the finest oblation — and your holiday table, too! Sugar-sprinkled pepper nuts with a bit of cinnamon, a bit of clove, a little cardamom, and a hint of nutmeg. – BPAL

Oil Color:  A tawny orangish yellow.

Bottle Design and Artwork:  This is a standard vial / imp size (1/32 oz).  Decanted by ralenth, the label features the name of the scent and notes on the back.  The side has her decanting name.  The front displays the collection, the name of the scent, the date, the company acronym, all of which surround an image of Cthulhu in black and white rising from the depths with a witty caption about cookies.

  • In the Imp (ITI):  It reminds me of Trappist monk fruit cake. I smell cardamom, clove, some cinnamon and rum (I know it’s not in there, but that is what I’m getting). It’s a bit cloying in the bottle and wet.
  • Wet:  More of the same with a bit of a buttery undertone, followed by a little pepper.
  • Dry: Sugary cardamon, cinnamon and clove with a little rum.
12+ hours:A bit of clove and cardamon. It’s very faint, but I can still smell it.
This is the first scent that my husband ever said, “I like it!” (2010)
Other Impressions: 2012:  “Chicory?  It smells not quite like coffee and not quite like root beer.” -Tony
