Scent Name:  Misericordia

Manufacturer: Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab –  Vampires Don’t Sleep Alone

Scent Description and Notes: “MISERICORDIA
The Misericordia, or Tristis, are vampires that are consumed with a longing to regain their lost humanity, some to the point of being driven mad by the desire to be human once more. The shock of their transition into vampirism and the rejection they faced from friends and loved ones was devastating, and it compromises their ability to find solace and comfort. Unlike the Transeo, Misericordia cannot merge into human society, but are relegated by their own grief to the position of outsiders. Their inherent melancholy and morose temperaments make it difficult for them to cultivate relationships with either humans or vampires. Most vampires treat the Misericordia with a fair amount of derision, and they are sometimes hunted by Interfectors who see the perspective of the Misericordia as an affront to their way of thinking.

Eons of grief and unending hunger: magnolia, black currant, castoreum accord, lavender, labdanum, amber, rose otto, and opoponax.” -BPAL

Oil Color:  A dark resin color.

Bottle Design and Artwork: This is a standard vial / imp size (1/32 oz). This is a decant from ralenth.  On the back, she has the notes of the scent.  The side features her decanting name while the front has the company acronym, collection, title of scent, and image.  The image is of a naked vampire splattered in blood huddled against a wall in a fetal positivist.

Scent:

  • ITI:  IT’s herby and slightly resinous.  The lavender. opoponax, and spicy castoreum accord.  It’s brooding and attractive.
  • Wet: It’s sweeter on my skin, but still resinous and herby.  The lavender is still rather dominant, although the opoponax and castoreum are close seconds.  I get impressions of the rose and magnolia rounding out the scent.
  • Dry:  After 3 hours and some yard work, Misericordia smells like rose, labdanum, castoreum and musky opoponax.  It’s pleasant but still has some depth.

Other Impressions: The cats certainly liked this one as they jumped on me to list my wrist.
