Scent Name:  The Wretched Rose Window

Manufacturer: Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab –  Halloweenie 2012

Scent Description and Notes: “Phantasmal patterns warp and weave through panes of leaded glass. Pale shafts of frail sunbeams push through, creating a sickly dance of violet, smoke-grey, blood-red, and blackened plum light on the oaken walls.” -BPAL

Oil Color:  A very lightly toasted grain color.

Bottle Design and Artwork: This is a standard vial / imp size (1/32 oz). This is a decant from ralenth.  On the back, she has the notes of the scent.  The side features her decanting name while the front has the company acronym, collection, decanted amount, date, and image.  The black and white image is of an intricate stain-ed glass window set against a dark background while the title of the scent and the company name and date surround the image.

  • ITI:  Strong violet, vetiver, something that reads as civet to my nose, and just a touch of oak.  I adore the super musky scents, so this is a go for me even before skin-testing it.
  • Wet: Oh yea, thick and musky with thick swaths of heady violets, rose, and whiffs of smoke.  Gorgeous and very much reminiscent of a cloister I visited somewhere in rural France.
  • Dry:  Gosh, the musk is wonderful here. I still get heady violet, but everything is okay because of the musky civet.  This is a winner!

Other Impressions: “It’s like baby powder, roses, and musk.” -Tony
