Scent Name: Third Charm
Manufacturer: Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab – Halloweenie 2012
Scent Description and Notes: “The owl is abroad, the bat, and the toad,
And so is the cat-a-mountain,
The ant and the mole sit both in a hole,
And the frog peeps out o’ the fountain;
The dogs they do bay, and the timbrels play,
The spindle is now a turning;
The moon it is red, and the stars are fled,
But all the sky is a-burning:
The ditch is made, and our nails the spade,
With pictures full, of wax and of wool;
Their livers I stick, with needles quick;
There lacks but the blood, to make up the flood.
Quickly, Dame, then bring your part in,
Spur, spur upon little Martin,
Merrily, merrily, make him fail,
A worm in his mouth, and a thorn in his tail,
Fire above, and fire below,
With a whip in your hand, to make him go.
There’s magic afoot: fiery red musk, luminous elemi, East Indian patchouli, champaca flower, cedar incense, ho wood, and hemlock accord sweetened with a peculiar sweet honey.” -BPAL
Oil Color: A deep reddened brown.
Bottle Design and Artwork: This is a standard vial / imp size (1/32 oz). This is a decant from ralenth. On the back, she has the notes of the scent, the title of the scent, and the collection. The front features a Greek eye charm with wings on a key chain.
- ITI: It’s oddly sweet like cough syrup – I think this might be from the red musk, honey and elemi.
- Wet: Yea, it’s the Honeybucket honey again. I can’t smell much else beside it on my skin.
- Dry: The honey is much less offensive (thank goodness), and now I can pick out the cedar incense, the patchouli, and the champaca. It’s so much better dried.
Other Impressions: “Violets and lavender, right?” – Tony
