Scent Name:  Strangler Fig

Manufacturer: Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab –  Rappaccini’s Garden

Scent Description and Notes: A glorious parasite! Once the seeds of the Strangler Fig find root in the bark of a tree, snakelike roots erupt and reach graspingly at the sky. The Strangler Fig then sprouts numerous epiphytic vines that strangles and surrounds its unwilling host, and finally snuffs the life from it. Rooty, woody, with deep green tones. -BPAL

Oil Color: It’s the color of fresh honey.

Bottle Design and Artwork: This is a standard vial / imp size (1/32 oz).  The label wrapped around the bottle features an Art-Deco inspired phoenix with name of the company next to the phoenix. On the other side, the title of the scent written in large, clear black font outlined with red on the front.

  • ITI:  It’s strangely green and sweet, like walking into an romantic garden. I can pick up the soil, but there’s something that’s reading as cotton candy to me.
  • Wet: Damp, sweet loam, faint strawberries, and a hint of green.  It’s a rather unusual scent.
  • Dry: Yum, now I’m getting light wood, strawberries, chocolate  soil, and a touch of green.  If you want something more complex, I’d give this scent a try.

Other Impressions: “It smells like buttercream.” -Tony
