Leather and elemi together?  This ought to be good!

Scent Name: Calocyclas

Manufacturer:  Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab –  Song of Nature

Scent Description and Notes: “Black leather accord with olibanum, black pepper, white sandalwood, luminous Asian blossoms, and sheer elemi. -BPAL

Oil Color: – I cannot tell the color of the oil by looking into the brown apothecary bottle.

Bottle Design and Artwork:  This is a 5ml standard brown apothecary bottle.  The label extends just under halfway around the bottom.  The label features the name of the company along the bottom in a Neely polish from Zoya green (a light, very light mint, but with a little grey) block font set against a black field.  The collection title is situated above the image, also in mint grey font and inside a black text box.  The scent name is white and is positioned to the right just above the company name.  The image is mostly in black and green and depicts the image below:

  • ITB:  Resin-infused oil rubbed on rich, supple leather and the uplifting ephemeral scent of elemi wafting over everything.
  • Wet:  Leather, olibanum and sandalwood smoldering in a censer, elemi and a hint of black pepper. It’s gorgeous and reminds me of a family friend’s house who lives in the Pacific Northwest wilderness in a rustic log house.
  • Dry: Once dried, the leather (and older. well-worn and supple leather note rather than something new) is most dominant, followed by the olibanum and sandalwood, black pepper, and finally, the elemi.
Other Impressions: None.
