Scent Name: A Blade of Gras
Manufacturer: Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab – Halloweenie 2008
Scent Description and Notes: “A BLADE OF GRASS
Said a blade of grass to an autumn leaf, “You make such a noise falling! You scatter all my winter dreams.”
Said the leaf indignant, “Low-born and low-dwelling! Songless, peevish thing! You live not in the upper air and you cannot tell the sound of singing.”
Then the autumn leaf lay down upon the earth and slept. And when spring came she waked again — and she was a blade of grass.
And when it was autumn and her winter sleep was upon her, and above her through all the air the leaves were falling, she muttered to herself, “O these autumn leaves! They make such a noise! They scatter all my winter dreams.”
Autumn leaves scattered among blades of grass.“ -BPAL
Oil Color: I cannot tell from the brown apothecary bottle.
Bottle Design and Artwork: This is a standard 5ml brown apothecary bottle. The label features a beautiful monochromatic image of black leaves swirling in a sandstone-colored lake with light cream swirls to invoke water. Grass frames the bottom of the image, on top of which is the title of the scent in a black-outlined orange block font. Below that in the sandstone text field is the name of the company and the collection.
- ITB: It does smell like dried Autumn leaves, cut grass, and something that’s reading as green and bitter. It does remind me of a wet November morning.
- Wet: As soon as it hits my skin, the scent gets more bitter, but that dies down within seconds to the cool sweetness of cut grass and the dry, papery tone of leaves.
- Dry: The scent gets softer in tone and a bit duskier, but it is still clearly autumnal leaves and grass.
Other Impressions: None.
