Scent Name: Velvet Panther
Manufacturer: Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab – The Salon April Fool’s Exhibit (4/1/09-6/1/09): Velvet Paintings
Scent Description and Notes: “Dark musk, star anise, agarwood, styrax, vetiver, gaiacwood, King mandarin, violet leaf, and black vanilla.” -BPAL
Oil Color: I cannot tell the oil color through the dark brown apothecary bottle.
Bottle Design and Artwork: This is a standard 5ml brown apothecary bottle. The label extends just under halfway around the bottom. The label features the name of the company and the date in small white font along the top, separated by Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab’s alchemical sign. The name of the scent is in large white block font off-centered to the right along the bottom of the label. The label art is of a growling panther painted on velvet.
- ITB: It’s styrax, agarwood, and star anise that first jump out on me. After that, I get very faint musk and just an impression of the King mandarin.
- Wet: It’s musky and sweet at the same time from the black vanilla, King mandarin, star anise, musk, and violet leaf. There is a note in here that is a little sour, but I’m not sure what it is.
- Dry: It’s not as long-lasting as I would have expected. After only a few hours, the scent has settled down to a very faint combination of vanilla, musk, styrax, and anise.
Other Impressions: None.
