Scent Name: Misfortune Teller V3
Manufacturer: Black Phoneix Alchemy Lab – Prototype: Clearing Out the Cobwebs 5: Dark Delicacies Trunk Show, 6/04/10
Scent Description and Notes: None provided
Oil Color: I cannot tell the oil color through the dark brown apothecary bottle.
Bottle Design and Artwork: This is a standard 5ml brown apothecary bottle. The label extends just under halfway around the bottom. The label features what looks like shoulder and rib diagrams in a very Geiger-esque fashion. Just above the black text box that displays the name of the scent in orange block letters is the word “prototype” in black font outlined in white, which extends just a little onto the black text box. Below that is the name of the company in the same font as the prototype font.
- ITI: It smells like red musk, vanilla, plum, and something that reads as very dark to my nose. I don’t pick up the other fruits of the released Mmn. Moriarty version, though.
- Wet: There’s lots of vanilla here along with red and maybe even brown musk. I can pick up the plum and there is a faint very patchouli note in here, but it seems to be lost under the vanilla, plum, and musk.
- Dry: As it begins to try, it smells like there might even be a wood note in here, although that may due to the patchouli. There’s something that is vaguely like camphor mingled with the spicy plum and vanilla. The more it settles, the spicier it becomes. This is what I imagine the worms on Dune smell like, and it’s delicious.
Other Impressions: “Vanilla and the tiniest hint of clove. Not the anise portion of it, but the tone of it. It’s alright, but it’s more of a house smell.” -Tony
