balsam, BPAL, Chinese geranium, geranium, limited edition, Miskatonic Valley Philharmonic, Miskatonic Valley Philharmonic: Music of Despair, Musk, myrrh, Peru balsam, red musk, tobacco, tobacco absolute
Happy New Year’s Eve! I thought I’d ring in the New Year with something music, continuing with the Philharmonic scents I managed to obtain.
Scent Name: Csárdás Macabre
Manufacturer: Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab – Miskatonic Valley Philharmonic: Music of Despair
Scent Description and Notes: “Red musk, myrrh, peru balsam, Chinese geranium, and tobacco absolute.“ -BPAL
Oil Color: – I cannot tell the color of the oil by looking into the brown apothecary bottle.
Bottle Design and Artwork: This is a 5ml standard brown apothecary bottle. The label extends just under halfway around the bottom. The label features the name of the company and collection information in white thin block fonts set against black text fields above and below the image of the musical instrument (a stylized one with serpent-looking heads in black). The title of the scent is in red, thick shadowed font. All of this is set against a modeled brown and tarnished gold background.
- ITB: It’s woodsy and resinous – faint myrrh, Peru balsam, red musk, and geranium. Interesting.
- Wet: The balsam, geranium, and tobacco are much stronger on my wrist. To a certain extent, it reminds me of Lulu from The District, but a bit darker.
- Dry: It’s sweetly subtle in its woodsiness, although there is a delightful resinous spice to it from the tobacco, myrrh, and musk. The floral aspect only adds a touch of spice (from the geranium), but nothing more.
