This is the last of my current BPAL bottles. I have two more etailer bottles, House of Gloi and Haunt, but otherwise, I’ll be going through my remaining imps and then on to designer scents.  It’s not too far away now.

Scent Name: Metal Rabbit

Manufacturer:  Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab – Chinese New Year 2011

Scent Description and Notes: “METAL RABBIT
A new year’s blessing! Peony, China’s national flower, with bamboo for flexibility, plum blossom for perseverance, courage, and hope, tangerine for wealth, orange for happiness, lychee for household peace, pine resin for constancy, golden kumquat and quince for prosperity, narcissus and King mandarin for good fortune, cypress for longevity, and peach fruit and hemp to represent the fourth phase of Wu Xing, with a splash of blazing red of dragon’s blood… to help you scare away the rampaging Nian.

Oil Color: – (Cannot tell in brown apothecary bottles)

Bottle Design and Artwork:  This is a 5ml standard brown apothecary bottle.  The label extends just under halfway around the bottom.  The label features a painting of a bronze-looking rabbit in mid-run with the title name in orange-outlined block font above its hind quarters and the company name in similar font, but outlined in brown, situated along the bottom.

  • ITB:  While I distinctly remember disliking Water Dragon, Metal Rabbit is succulently fruity and nicely floral.  It actually makes my mouth water.  So far, so good.
  • Wet:  Wow, the lychee is really strong here (thank goodness, as I adore this note), followed by plum blossom, mandarin, pink peach, and just a faint touch of narcissus and bamboo.  Yum!
  • Dry:  It fades quickly, but dries down to something softly floral and very faintly fruity, but oddly comforting.  This is most certainly a keeper!
Other Impressions:  None.
