Scent Name: Rose Cross
Manufacturer: Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab – Sin and Salvation
Scent Description and Notes: “A profound symbol of an individual’s personal initiatic process, spiritual refinement and evolution, synthesis, grace found as a result of trial and suffering, and the alchemical process by which we transform the raw essence of our souls through light in extension. This is a holy oil, a representation of the triumph of spirit over matter: purest rose with sacred frankincense.“ -https://blackphoenixalchemylab.com/shop/general-catalog-perfume-oils/sin-and-salvation/rose-cross/
Oil Color: A spiced rum colored oil.
Bottle Design and Artwork: This is a standard vial / imp size (1/32 oz). The label wrapped around the bottle features an Art-Deco inspired phoenix with name of the company next to the phoenix. On the other side, the title of the scent written in large, clear black font outlined with red on the front.
- ITI: Oh, that’s a much softer rose than I had anticipated. It’s not the richly sweet reds as in Snow White, but a soft petal pink, almost more like a tea rose. That is swirled with a deeper frankincense, as in its natural state.
- Wet: The rose is a bit deeper, a bit more red on my skin, thankfully, petal soft and fragrant, although it still maintains hints of duskiness next to the now more incense-driven frankincense. Every now and then, I can pick up a flash of green, but then it disappears beneath the rose and resin tones.
- Dry: After two hours, the scent still has about 2″ of throw. It remains darker fresh rose from the garden, gently brushed with hazy frankincense. I think I still prefer deeper and more complex rose tones, but this is certainly a nice rose-dominant scent.
Other Impressions: None.
