Scent Name: When Life Shone Warm in Thine Eyes
Manufacturer: Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab – Event Exclusive: Bats Day 2014
Scent Description and Notes: “Flushed with ardor, and vibrant with passion: rose-infused honey, radiant amber, pale myrrh, and golden jasmine enfolded in warm cardamom.“ -http://www.blackphoenixgazette.com/announcing-the-bats-day-2014-exclusive-scents/
Oil Color: A rose gold color.
Bottle Design and Artwork: This is a standard vial / imp size (1/32 oz). This is a decant from Absinthetics. On the back, she has the notes of the scent, the name of the scent in orange bold font, and her decanting information in green. The font of the label features a sepia-toned close-up of a woman’s eye.
- ITI: Okay, slow down there, jasmine. It’s not a race. At least the honey and the rose are desperately trying to pull back the reigns. And here I was worried about the honey note turning into port-a-potty note immediately.
- Wet: Strong, soapy jasmine, red rose, slight honey bucket honey (but honestly, the jasmine is so strong that it drowns out most of the unpleasantness), and a little cardamom to keep the scent from being something worthy of a Victorian madam.
- Dry: While I’m not willing to wait for the dry down four hours later, once there, the jasmine has burned off to reveal a really pretty amber-rose-honey combination with a touch of cardamom.
Other Impressions: “Too strong. Too flowery. I don’t like it.” -Maite
