Scent Name:  When Stars Are Weeping

Manufacturer: Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab – Event Exclusive: Bats Day 2014

Scent Description and Notes: “Glittering starry musk dotted with crystalline vanilla, benzoin, violet leaf, Italian bergamot, white honeysuckle, water lettuce, and grief-touched crushed carrot seed.” -http://www.blackphoenixgazette.com/announcing-the-bats-day-2014-exclusive-scents/

Oil Color: A really pretty  bright honeysuckle yellow with a tinge of green.

Bottle Design and Artwork: This is a standard vial / imp size (1/32 oz). This is a decant from Absinthetics.  On the back, she has the notes of the scent, the name of the scent in orange bold font, and her decanting information in green.  The font of the label features a decanter-chosen clip-art picture of a star weeping.

  • ITI: It’s a bright green scent twinkling with watery violet leaf, water lettuce, honeysuckle, carrot seed, and bergamot.  It wasn’t what I was expecting at all, but it is incredibly invigorating.
  • Wet:  There’s more bergamot and violet leaf on my skin, but it still is largely similar to my impression of it in the imp but with a slightly citrus tone to it.  As it settles, it starts to remind me of a combination of The Body Shop’s Beleaf and Citrella, actually.
  • Dry:  The crystalline, sparkly qualities dry off to reveal  a softly sweet and resinous scent composed of benzoin, vanilla, bergamot, and honeysuckle notes.

Other Impressions: “Lemony.  Mmm, like lemongrass.  That’s what it smells like.  It’s not bad.” -Tiah
