Name: Eve with Sage Fuck Up
Manufacturer: Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab – Limited Edition
Scent Description and Notes: “Original: the Irish moss, yarrow, and hawthorn of the Iron Age Britons, ancient Rome’s omphacium and honey, myrrh and calamus from Egypt, the frankincense and damask roses of the Florentine Renaissance, white sandalwood from the Far East, Moroccan saffron and rose water, and a swirl of incense from the souls.
A few months ago, while we were prepping the return of the OLLAs, I butchered a massive bottle of Eve. I was stressed out and distracted, and accidentally replaced the rose component with an in-house sage combo of ours that contains Clary sage and Dalmatian sage. Basically, a whole lotta sage and zero rose. Anyway, it smells amazing, so imma sell it. I even gave it a really classy and poetic name because I’m a classy and poetic guy.” -bpal.org
Oil Color: Colorless on my skin.
Bottle Design and Artwork: This is a standard brown apothecary bottle. The label wrapped around the bottle features the name of the company in thin white font along the bottom while the name of the scent is pictured in what looks like a photo of a hand-printed name card.
- ITB: So good! While Eve is chai and roses, this is Rich, spiced, and earthy. The myrrh, calamus, and saffron are firey but warm at the same time. Without the rose, I can smell the olive and Honey notes, which paired beautifully with gentle sage.
- Wet: Oooh, that’s spicy and delicious – I’m getting heavy tones of cardamon, calamus, myrrh and sandalwood as discussed warms. The save adds just a lovely herbal tone that moves out of the heavier florals to the best smelling pastry/ spiced tea shop ever.
- Dry: After 10 hours, there’s a very light impression of calamus, resin, and hint of sage.
