Scent Name: Yule Cat

Manufacturer: Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab – Yule 2018

Scent Description and Notes: “The Yule Cat is a gargantuan Icelandic feline that feasts on indolent people who shirk their community responsibilities. Don’t be lazy! – idle hands make for a very unpleasant Yule!

Malevolent musk, a drop of infernal civet, vetiver, club moss, birch, goosefoot, and rowan.” -https://blackphoenixalchemylab.com/product-category/winter-collection/yule-2018/

Goosefoot grows in salt flats and the leaves of which are often considered rank-smelling.

Oil Color: Slightly orange-tinged oil on my skin.

Bottle Design and Artwork: This is a standard brown apothecary bottle.  The label wrapped around the bottle features the name of the company in pale pink font along the bottom.  Above that is the name of the scent in shadowed and outlined larger white font.  The name of the collection is in lighter pink font along the top of the label.  The label art is as featured below:

  • ITB: Salty, green woody cardboard almost, but it reminds me of slightly damp cardboard with a bit of sweet red civet just along the outside edges of the scent.  It’s…interesting.
  • Wet: The goosefoot is rather strong at first. It’s salty almost dried sage-like greenness from the rowan and dark, woody birch-infused vetiver laid over faint civet.  It certainly is wild, animinalistic, and free.
  • Dry:  Two hours later, the scent is a lovely civet with subtle, dusty tones of salty goosefoot, sweetened ever slightly by a touch of musk and a hint of vetiver.  This is such a different scent!

Other Impressions: None.
