Scent Name: Spinning on Graves

Manufacturer: Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab – Lilith 2017

Scent Description and Notes: Late at night, as you walk through a dark and creepy cemetery, all is quiet except for the giggling of two kids: one is eight and one is fifty-eight.

They are standing in the middle of the tombstones; the bigger kid is spinning the little kid around by her arms.

They spin and spin and then fall down laughing.

What could be more fun than falling down on people’s graves?

Dorian and lavender mist, crushed grass, cypress leaf, and a drop of clove.” -BPAL.org

Oil Color: A faded ice wine color.

Bottle Design and Artwork: This is a standard 1/32 ml imp that has been decanted for me by Absinthetics. Her label features the scent notes on the back along with her decanting information and the scent name. The label art is a picture of Lilith spinning on the grass in a graveyard.

  • ITI: I’m getting a cool Dorian fog laced with lavender, cypress, and gently trodden grass.  Oh, I like this one.
  • Wet: It’s much the same on my skin, but I have to say that I really love this cold, funerary take on Dorian.  The lavender mist, cypress, and crushed grass notes frame the fougere while setting a beautifully, mournful scene.  As it starts to settle, I get a sliver of clove, but not enough to change the tone of this scent.
  • Dry:  After 5 hours, there’s still some scent left consisting of faded fougere silvered with ethereal lavender mist and a touch of cypress.  It’s brilliant and I’m kicking myself that I didn’t find a bottle earlier.

Other Impressions: “Oh, I love that. It’s a white floral, light spring floral with that hint of fall that I love so much.  To me, it’s the best of both worlds.” -Kelly

I like this enough that I need to track down a bottle of it.
