Scent Name: Blueberry Picking
Scent Description and Notes: “I wanted to go with a less-literal name for this scent, but Lilith vetoed me! My little monster is a tremendous help around the garden. She helps me water, plant, and deadhead the flowers, but by far… harvesting is her favorite chore.
Sun-warmed, slightly squishy blueberries plus overgrown grass, overgrown honeysuckle, overgrown lavender, overgrown lemon verbena, and a smattering of un-pulled weeds.” -BPAL.org
Oil Color: A faded honey wine color.
Bottle Design and Artwork: This is a standard 1/32 ml imp that has been decanted for me by Absinthetics. Her label features the scent notes on the back along with her decanting information and the scent name. The label art on the imp is the same that appears on the bottle.
- ITI: Now, that’s interesting. I’m getting squishy, almost overripe blueberries followed quickly by a somewhat bitter green note, which I think might be from the weeds before the honeysuckle comes in. Sadly, the honeysuckle reads faintly artificial to me.
- Wet: The blueberries war with the honeysuckle on my skin, taking turns by beautiful dark, luscious fruitiness and hearty, assertive floral. There’s a subtle haze of lemon verbena and weeds with a hint of lavender, yet blueberry and honeysuckle are still the dominant players here.
- Dry: After an hour, I’m getting a pleasantly soapy blueberry springtime blend. It’s fresh and clean.
Other Impressions: “It’s like berries and lemongrass.” -Tony
