Scent Name: Old Demons of the First Class
Manufacturer: Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab – Marchen: The Elfin Hill
Scent Description and Notes: “We must have all the old demons of the first class, with tails, and the hobgoblins and imps; and then I think we ought not to leave out the death-horse, or the grave-pig, or even the church dwarf, although they do belong to the clergy, and are not reckoned among our people; but that is merely their office, they are nearly related to us, and visit us very frequently.
Siberian musk, black clove, opoponax, tonka, black pepper, and neroli.” – https://blackphoenixalchemylab.com/shop/general-catalog-perfume-oils/marchen/old-demons-of-the-first-class/
Oil Color: A cherried black walnut wood colored oil.
Bottle Design and Artwork: This is a standard vial / imp size (1/32 oz). The label wrapped around the bottle features an Art-Deco inspired phoenix with name of the company next to the phoenix. - ITI: Orangey neroli is at the forefront, followed by hints of pepper and opoponax and finished by musk. It reminds me of New Orleans offerings.
- Wet: Yes, I’m still getting dominant spiced neroli and light black pepper. Both of these are infused in a cloud of soft opoponax and musk with a hint of an almost leathery tonka. Yes, I can see the image of dapper demons for his scent.
- Dry: Yum, this is still wonderful after two hours. It’s now tonka dominant, dusted with close, soft neroli, a pinch of pepper, and a soft, downy musk.
Other Impressions: None.
