Manufacturer: Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab – BPAL 17th Anniversary: Geology 2019

Scent Description and Notes:An effervescent ginger moss fougere with cistus, lime peel, green mandarin, balsam, and khus.” -https://blackphoenixalchemylab.com/shop/17th-anniversary/hanksite-phoenix-perfume-oil/

Oil Color: A cheery honeyed broth colored oil.

Bottle Design and Artwork: This is a standard vial / imp size (1/32 oz). This is a decant from Yowahoshihime.  On the back, she has the notes of the scent, the name in green, and her decanting name. The front of the label has the phrase “BPAL 17th Anniversary.” The label art appears as follows:

  • ITI: Dish soap?  Specifically, the green Palmolive dish soap comes to mind. Once I sweet that image away, I get the lime peel, fizzed ginger, and khus.
  • Wet: I still am getting dish soap, but 3 seconds in, the mandarin starts to make itself known, adding some much needed sweetness.  The ginger has gone to powdered ginger on me, yet the lime and heady khus still thrive at the center of the scent.  The soap quality seems to lessen as it sits on my skin, thankfully.
  • Dry: This doesn’t have the best staying power, although I did put it through its paces with the chores.  After two hours, the scent has faded into a faded lime fougere with impressions of ginger and headiness from the khus.

Other Impressions: None.
