The sound of wind
– Matsuo Basho
A blur of grey-white: ambergris accord, ice musk, black tea, Himalayan cedar, coconut husk, and frost.” -https://blackphoenixalchemylab.com/shop/yule-2019/a-world-of-one-color-perfume-oil/
Oil Color: Colorless on my skin.
Bottle Design and Artwork: This is a standard brown apothecary bottle. The label wrapped around the bottle features the name of the company in thin block font in a white color along the bottom of the label. Above that is the name of the scent in a bolded larger orange smoked black font outlined in black. The name of the collection is in a smaller version as the company name located at the center top of the label. The label art is pictured below:
- ITB: Husked coconut and ambergris frosted with ice crystals and a spice of cool black tea. Every now and then, I get a whisper of cedar, but it quickly burrows underneath the frost and dry, husky elements.
- Wet: Wow, I’m surprised at how soft and gentle the cedar is, but it’s definitely cedar I sell first on my skin before crystallized ice patters spiral around blissfully dry coconut and comforting ambergris-laced tea. I get images of burrows in the hoary tundra or solitary mountain temples lost in sheets of lice and blankets of snow. As it settles, the spice of the black tea grow alongside the ambergris, further enhancing the idea of refuge from the cold. Brilliant!
- Dry: Two hours later, the scent lingers close to the skin. It’s now a beautiful black tea spiced coconut husk layered over ambergris and hints of thawing snow.
Other Impressions: None.
