Since it’s now October, I think it’s time to go through my backlogged Halloweenies until my new Liliths arrive.
Scent Name: The Apparition
Manufacturer: Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab – Halloween 2017
Scent Description and Notes: “When by thy scorne, O murdresse, I am dead,
And that thou thinkst thee free
From all solicitation from mee,
Then shall my ghost come to thy bed,
And thee, fain’d vestall, in worse armes shall see;
Then thy sicke taper will begin to winke,
And he,whose thou art then, being tyr’d before,
Will, if thou stirre, or pinch to wake him, thinke
Thou call’st for more,
And in false sleepe will from thee shrinke,
And then poore Aspen wretch, neglected thou
Bath’d in a cold quicksilver swear wilt lye
A veryer ghost than I;
What I will say, I will not tell thee now,
Lest that preserve thee; and since my love is spent,
I’had rather thou shouldst painfully repent,
Than by my threatenings rest still innocent.
Quicksilver-cold and heartless: white sandalwood, immortelle, zdravetz, and oudh.“ -BPAL.org
Oil Color: Colorless on my skin.
Bottle Design and Artwork: This is a standard 5ml BPAL brown apothecary bottle. The label wrapped around the bottle features the name of the scent in blocky, bolded pumpkin orange letters along the bottom of the bottle, just over the name of the company, which is in a smaller white block font. The name of the collection and year are situated along the top of the label in a smaller version of the same font as the company’s name. The label art features a photograph of two ghostly figures appearing around a flickering candle.

- ITB: It’s very green, which I think is from the zdravetz, but there’s a subtle watery tone to this as well. I’m not getting much else, though.
- Wet: I’m still getting much of that watery, herbal greenness, but I’m getting lovely undertones of white sandalwood far beneath the zdravetz. I wish the other notes would come through, though.
- Dry: This doesn’t last too long. After 4 hours, the scent diffuses into a shrubby, faintly green tone from the lingering zdravetz, but I’m not getting anything else.
Other Impressions: None.
