Scent Name: Funerary Papyri
Manufacturer: Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab – Motherhood: Lilith 2016
Scent Description and Notes: “Lilith was incredibly disappointed that she wasnt allowed to touch the Egyptian funerary texts at the British Museum.
Myrrh and papyrus reed with a smear of vanilla cream frosting.“ -BPAL.org
Oil Color: Colorless on my skin.
Bottle Design and Artwork: This is a standard 5ml BPAL brown apothecary bottle. The label wrapped around the bottle features the name of the scent in block, white letters along the top of the bottle, while the name of the company is at the bottom in smaller white block font. The name of the collection situated just about the company name is in a orchid color while the year is in a blueberry tone. The label art is as follows:
- ITB: Interesting. There’s a beautiful myrrh that blooms upon first opening the bottle soon met by the slight watery, slightly green and papery tones of papyrus reed with just a sliver of vanilla far in the background.
- Wet: The vanilla is slightly stronger, but the papyri and myrrh are beautifully juxtaposed. It really does smell like what I remember the those artifacts smelling like from the British Museum.
- Dry: Gone is the papyrus reed note after four hours; instead, I’m left with a gorgeous blend of understated vanilla cream and myrrh incense – a combination that I love.
