cent Name: Over-Acuteness of the Senses
Manufacturer: Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab – Halloweenies 2017: The Tell-Tale Heart
Scent Description and Notes: “And have I not told you that what you mistake for madness is but over-acuteness of the sense? — now, I say, there came to my ears a low, dull, quick sound, such as a watch makes when enveloped in cotton. I knew that sound well, too. It was the beating of the old man’s heart. It increased my fury, as the beating of a drum stimulates the soldier into courage.
Hyper-aware, swirling with delusions: orange blossom, lemon balm, and clove.”-https://blackphoenixalchemylab.com/shop/limited-edition/weenies-2017/over-acuteness-of-the-senses/
Oil Color: Bright yellow like corn oil.
Bottle Design and Artwork: This is a standard vial / imp size (1/32 oz). This is a decant which features the scent information on back and the image that would be on the bottle on front. The label art is as featured:
- ITI: Oh yeah, that is lemon balm, but one made with the rind and lemongrass. That comes screeching out, making me pull back the vial momentarily, but the orange blossom soothes that note. I don’t get any clove, though.
- Wet: The lemon balm starts out a little gentler when immediately applied, but my skin chemistry amps it toward the lemongrass side followed by soft orange blossom. The scent reminds me of what low-sugar Fruit Loops would smell like if they were made into a more mature perfume. Sadly, still no clove for me.
- Dry: Seven hours after application, I’m left with faint lemony orange blossom that’s much more soothing and agreeable than its wet iteration. I’m a bit disappointed that the clove didn’t show, but perhaps aging might remedy that.
Other Impressions: None.
