Bottle Design and Artwork: This is a standard brown apothecary bottle. The label wrapped around the bottle features the name of the scent in white and milk chocolate block font aligned to the left along the top of the image. The company name is located along in the bottom of the label in white block font. The original label art is similar to the following, but with the correct name:
- ITB: Dark cacao, semi-sweet but distinctive, smells like it has been rolled in smoked cinnamon and a rooty patchouli, sweetened by a well-balanced ylang ylang, red musk, and myrrh.
- Wet: On my skin, the dark cacao emerges as the top note, mixed with subdued patchouli and cinnamon powder. There’s a creaminess here that helps highlight the musk, soft floral ylang ylang, and the myrrh, complimenting the top notes rather well. The smokiness grows as the scent starts to settle, almost if there was a drop of labdanum hidden just beneath the rich cacao.
- Dry: 12 hours later, the scent is a delicious cinnamon-dusted dark cacao laced with whispers of ylang ylang and a musky myrrh. I like this, which surprises me since I normally am not a foody person. I think the complexity of this scent really helps broaden its appeal.
Other Impressions: “It’s like powdery butter cookies.” -Tony
