Scent Name: New Beginnings
Manufacturer: Twilight Alchemy Lab and Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab – A Little Lunacy: January 2020
Scent Description and Notes: “An oil of fresh starts, but not a new beginning that ignores the past. This is a catalyst for new beginnings that spring from learning from experiences, processing the past, and being able to move forward with a clear head and your eyes open. Passion flower has been added to make the process gentler, and lemon peel and acacia gum to make the process swifter.
Includes: lemon peel, passion flower herb, birch bark, acacia gum, frankincense, bay leaf, calendula, chicory root, grains of paradise, and lemon balm.” -https://blackphoenixalchemylab.com/shop/in-memoriam/a-little-lunacy/twilight-alchemy-lab-a-little-lunacy/new-beginnings-perfume-oil/
Oil Color: Colorless on my skin.
Bottle Design and Artwork: This is a 5ml standard brown apothecary bottle. The label extends just under halfway around the bottom. The label features the name of the company in a Western block font in the color of the parchment background, shadowed along the bottom. The name of the collection scent is positioned above that in a slightly larger rusty orange version of the same font outlined in parchment. The name of the scent is in the largest version of the same font but in brown, set against the Twilight Alchemy lab seal/crest. Image art is as follows:
Scent:
- ITB: Lemon balm and smoky chicory root over top birch and bay. There’s a bitter herbalness to this scent, too.
- Wet: It’s still very herbal, almost medicinal with heavy overtones of lemon balm, birch, bay leaf, slightly bitter calendula stems, and earthy chicory root.
- Dry: An hour and a half application, the acacia gum and passion flower come through softly atop fading lemon balm and a hint of frankincense and bay leaf. It’s lost most of its medicinal and astringent tones and is now staying very close to the skin. It certainly does help clear the head.
Other Impressions: None.
