Scent Name: The Enkindled Spring
Manufacturer: Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab – Dum Spiro, Spero : Spring 2020
Scent Description and Notes: ”
This spring as it comes bursts up in bonfires green,
Wild puffing of emerald trees, and flame-filled bushes,
Thorn-blossom lifting in wreaths of smoke between
Where the wood fumes up and the watery, flickering rushes.
I am amazed at this spring, this conflagration
Of green fires lit on the soil of the earth, this blaze
Of growing, and sparks that puff in wild gyration,
Faces of people streaming across my gaze.
And I, what fountain of fire am I among
This leaping combustion of spring? My spirit is tossed
About like a shadow buffeted in the throng
Of flames, a shadow that’s gone astray, and is lost.

A verdant inferno of daffodils, tulips, voluptuous pink peonies, star magnolias, and a blaze of crisp, green leaves.” -https://blackphoenixalchemylab.com/shop/limited-edition/dum-spiro-spero-spring-2020/the-enkindled-spring-perfume-oil/
Oil Color: The color of water-tinned white wine.
Bottle Design and Artwork: This is a standard 1/32 ml imp that has been decanted for me by Dizzystardust. The label just contains the scent name and company name, and the collection information. The Lab image, which is different than the bottle art, is as follows:
- ITI: Hmm, this is almost watery, like a clear brook adorned with pale florals. The pink peony, tulip, and magnolia combination is delicate yet delightfully fresh, fragrant floral speckled with verdant gently swaying green leaves.
- Wet: Very much true to the imp, the scent is so joyful, pure, and celebratory of its fresh florals that one can’t help but smile.
- Dry: I had to compare this to Fresh’s Memoirs of a Geisha because there was something that reminded me of it. While Memoirs is much more sake/rice-based, the sparkling freshness that is almost fruity is present in both of these. The Enkindled Spring is much more distinctly feminine-leaning in it’s crisply frilled floral celebration, but it a stunning scent on its own. Whispers of pink peony and tulip with a hint of star magnolia remain well after 8 hours sitting on the skin, but it is much faded and lacking significant through at this point. However, this is such a sparkling floral that I’d be happy to reapply.
Other Impressions: “There’s a lot going on there. Tiny rose soaps, kumquat rinds and pulp.” -Tony
