Manufacturer: Haus of Gloi – Summer Collection 2019
Scent Description and Notes: “Lemon cake made with the tang of fresh buttermilk and raspberry coulis – an otherwise innocent cake corrupted by cardamom and deceptive pink peppercorns.” -https://www.hausofgloi.com/products/beguiled-perfume-oil?_pos=2&_sid=6dd08bc91&_ss=r
Oil Color: A very faint pollen yellow color.
Bottle Design and Artwork: This is a standard 1/32 ml imp straight from the company. The front features a bi-color design in parchment and black, framed by opposite decorative elements. The parchment section features the name in a black bolded font, while the black section contains “Perfume Oil 5ml Vegan” in small parchment font. The name of the company is set in negative font against a black silhouette of trees on the tap of the label.
- ITI: Wow! That lemon note is so strong right out of the imp. It strikes me as heavy on the lemon zest. That’s followed by frosting and buttermilk infused with fuzzy cardamom, a slather of raspberry coulis, and a touch of pepper. It’s a bit on the foody side for me, but that lemon note is so delightfully refreshing that I might forgive the sweetness of the rest of the notes.
- Wet: Now it’s more lemon cake with stronger raspberry coulis. The buttermilk adds some warmth to the scent before the lemon cake soars once again over the subtle spices that mingle along the bottom of the scent.
- Dry: This settles down fairly quickly. After two hours, I’m getting faded lemon cake with a hint of raspberry candy. It’s just too sweet for me.
Other Impressions: None.
