Since this is a prototype, I’ve included my initial review in black, my Version 4 review in green.
Scent Name: Squirting Cucumber v4
Manufacturer: Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab – Prototypes: Trunk Show Retail Exclusive – Unreleased Scents
Scent Description and Notes: “Yikes! A spurt of wet, grassy greenness” – BPAL.org
Oil Color: Colorless
Bottle Design and Artwork: This is a standard vial / imp size (1/32 oz). The label wrapped around the bottle features an ornate acanthus, ivy, and shell leaf design motif surrounding the scent name. The name of the company is in black bold Art Deco font. The image art is as follows:
- ITB: Fresh, juicy, just-cut cucumber. It’s wet, green, fresh, and delicious! On my skin, it’s less cucumber and more something slightly floral and aquatic. I’m getting fresh cucumber flesh and that lovely cool wetness that comes along with its flesh over next to hints of grass and something somewhat sharp aquatic.
- Wet: I still get the cucumber impression, but it’s muddled with the other notes that take away from the delicious purity of a freshly sliced cucumber. I really love how delightfully cucumber this in, in all its essence from the leaves to the flesh. I’m still getting something aquatic here or vaguely like a sharp white floral.
- Dry: Thankfully, the aquatic overtones have mellowed out some, allowing the cucumber to settle back toward the top with the grassy notes. I’m getting clean soapiness with a faintly green or high white floral sub-note. It doesn’t have a great deal of throw after 4 hours, nor much longevity, but it’s nice.
