Scent Name: Now That They Rise & Walk in the Cold
Manufacturer: Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab – Halloween 2016: Edith Wharton
Scent Description and Notes: “And now that they rise and walk in the cold,
Let us warm their blood and give youth to the old.
Let them see us and hear us, and say: “Ah, thus
In the prime of the year it went with us!”
Till their lips drawn close, and so long unkist,
Forget they are mist that mingles with mist!
For the year’s on the turn, and it’s All Souls’ night,
When the dead can burn and the dead can smite.
Bruised violets chilled by eucalyptus blossom, ice musk, and black cypress tar.” -BPAL.org
Oil Color: A honeyed apricot colored oil.
Bottle Design and Artwork: This is a standard 1/32 ml imp that has been decanted for me by Mystery213. Her label features her decanting information and the scent name on the front and the company name on the back. There is no label art on this decant, but the label art that was on the original bottle is as follows:
- ITI: Interesting. Thick cypress tar and violets with a sheet of thin ice musk loom close to the imp’s mouth. I was expecting the eucalyptus, but I’m not getting any.
- Wet: Ah, there’s the eucalyptus – green, cool, and astringent twined with black cypress, flecked with ice crystals and softly trampled violets just underneath. It reminds me of shadowed landscapes nipped with frost on the edge of twilight.
- Dry: After 14 hours, I’m honestly surprised to have anything left. It’s very faint at this point, but I can still make out violets over a hint of woody musk.
Other Impressions: None.
