Scent Name: Lycan Lace
Manufacturer: Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab – Retail Exclusive: Dark Delicacies
Scent Description and Notes: “A veneer of civility shredded, torn, and bloodied. Ragged, soil-stained sugar-spun vanilla, dragged through a thicket of thorny roses, tobacco, and black pine, hot with feral musk and incense, and spattered with viscera. Limited to 150” –https://www.darkdel.com/store/p1340/Lycan_Lace.html
Oil Color: An orangish oil on my skin.
Bottle Design and Artwork: This is a 5ml standard brown apothecary bottle. The label extends just under halfway around the bottom. The label features the name of the company along the bottom in reddish orange block font haloed in white; above the image is the retailer for which it was made in the same font. The scent name is in larger red block font shadowed in black, located above the company name. The image on the bottle is as follows on the left:
- ITB: The soft and delicate tones that are characteristic of the laces are proudly on displace here – sugared vanilla rose fringed with incense and tobacco, with a hint of rich potting soil underneath.
- Wet: Wow, what a beautiful, gauzy combination of sugared vanilla, wooly musk, blood red rose, heady tobacco, billowing incense, and hints of soil. I’m not getting as much viscera as the rose, tobacco, and resins are amping wonderfully on my skin, swirling over the pale vanilla.
- Dry: Sugared vanilla-frosted lace, warmed with incense and tobacco, with a spot of soil just underneath. Ooh, I love this! It reminds me of the scene from Interview with the Vampire when Lestat is pulling the lace cuffs, covered in dirt, but still delicate, while driving down the freeway.
