Manufacturer: Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab – Genius Loci: Los Angeles
Scent Description and Notes: “A tiny creature with a wingspan less than two inches wide, she thrives on diversity but has a taste for mustard. She may be small, but she is fierce: one cabbage white butterfly can be the matriarch of generations of millions.
Orris root, orris butter, lily of the valley, and vanilla cream.“ -https://blackphoenixalchemylab.com/shop/in-memoriam/genius-loci/cabbage-white/

- ITI: It smells like orris root mineral oil fringed with lily and a hint of vanilla. I’m not a huge fan of orris root in this form, but it is an interesting scent.
- Wet: Orris butter almost smells like iris on me for some reason, hitting that same buggy tone that makes me feel uneasy, but the vanilla cream sweetens it enough to be palatable and the lily of the valley adds a lovely white, austere floral tone that is appealing.
- Dry: While I was certainly smelling like baby wipes for a good hour, the scent has settled into a much more pleasing version of vanilla cream laced lily of the valley with the almost violet-tinged orris root. It’s much nicer once given a chance to dry for a couple hours, but it isn’t really a scent that I would wear regularly.
Other Impressions: “Baby wipes. Yep, baby wipes.” -Tony
