Before I looked up the collection information, I thought this was from one of the NYCC releases (Eve’s Big Apple or the like). I was surprised to see that this was from a Halloween release, but I’m in the mood to smell apples, so here goes!
Scent Name: The Green Apple of Venus
Manufacturer: Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab – Halloween 2011: Celestial Apples – The Silver Apples of the Moon, The Golden Apples of the Sun
Scent Description and Notes: “Though I am old with wandering
Through hollow lands and hilly lands
I will find out where she has gone,
And kiss her lips and take her hands;
And walk among long dappled grass
And pluck till time and times are done,
The silver apples of the moon,
The golden apples of the sun.
Sweet green apple, apple blossom, sweet strawberry, pink pomegranate, violet leaf, tea rose, and red sandalwood.” -https://scentbase.com/scents/black-phoenix-alchemy-lab-bpal/the-green-apple-of-venus/201109081506306167
Oil Color: The color of fresh dandelions.
Bottle Design and Artwork: This is a standard 1/32 ml imp that has been decanted by Crown & Tulip. Her label features the her decanting information and symbol. The front features the name of the scent, the collection, and the company name. The label art associated with this collection is below:
- ITI: Fruity sweet and perfume. The fresh apple is first to meet my nose, fresh and sweet, followed by a perfumed strawberry and sandalwood musk muddled with tea rose and slightly tart pink pomegranate.
- Wet: Similar on my skin, but the pink pomegranate is more forward, following the lovely green apple note. The strawberry starts to emerge after 15 seconds, but the apple and pomegranate seem to be dominant on my skin at this point. I’m trying really hard to detect the floral elements, but it’s all fruit on me right now.
- Dry: Now that the scent has had an hour to settle, the strawberry, pulpy and sweet, is more forward now, supported by pink pomegranate and hazy red sandalwood with a hint of violet leaf. It makes me think of strawberry cotton candy. I wish the apple were more apparent in the scent’s dry state, honestly.
Other Impressions: “I’m not sure what it is, but if this were a Glad Plugin, it would be called ‘Sea Breeze.'” – Tony
