Scent Name: ‘Tis Strange
Manufacturer: Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab – Activism 2021: The Independent Shakespeare Company – The Last Syllable
Scent Description and Notes: ““Macbeth ruled during a time when the old gods were not yet forgotten. Almost no one could read and their memories and stories reached back into the deepest shadows.
When the imagination stretches backwards as well as forwards it creates a sort of slide, or ladder. Like the children’s game! Time is much thicker. There is a substance about it that allows beings to gain purchase.”
Both bog and castle, moor and battlefield, chivalry and nightmare: scarred leather armor, moss-covered stone, shadows upon shadows, and billows of black incense.” –https://blackphoenixalchemylab.com/shop/collaborations/independent-shakespeare-company/the-last-syllable/tis-strange-perfume-oil/
Bottle Design and Artwork: This is a 1/32 imp decant from Yowahoshihime. The label features the year, the company acronym, and the collection name across the front in bolded black. The back of the label has the name of the scent, it’s notes, and decanting information in standard smaller font. The image art on the bottles is of a stylish couple in black and white sitting I think on the roof. Image art on the website as follows:
Scent:
- ITI: Smoked and shadowy incense lightly reminiscent of a sandalwood-nag champa, twined with cords of leather set atop cool grey stones.
- Wet: Leather worn shiny with wear, polished with thick swaths of shadows over stones chilled with seas of moss. Threads of black incense trail from this leather, like a tattered cape from a mounted shadowy figure riding though a dense mossy forest.
- Dry: After 7 hours on the skin, I’m left with a lightly incensed almost vague floral scent over leather musk that reads as department perfume. Hmm, that’s a pass for me.
Other Impressions: [Dry] Smelled on cat after she rubbed on me: “Why do you smells like one of my great aunts?” -Tony
