The constant, unending Work of Creation is called the “The Play of Kali”.

Oil Color:  The color of a very light white wine.

Bottle Design and Artwork:  This is a standard vial / imp size (1/32 oz).  The label wrapped around the bottle features an Art-Deco inspired phoenix with name of the company next to the phoenix. On the other side, the title of the scent written in large, clear black font outlined with red on the front.  This is an imp I received directly from the Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab.

Scent:

  • ITI:  I get the huff of a pleasant red wine with berries that have taken on a dark chocolate undertone with a subtle flush of cassia and velvety rose petals dabbed with honey at the back.
  • Wet:  Wine at first on the skin, but it’s softer than many of the other wine notes I’ve tested, sweetened with honey before the garnety tart tones of hibiscus move forward, twined with a slightly heady combination of osmathnus and lotus.  There’s just a touch of chocolate, like on a lover’s breath at the very back of the scent that pulls one in.  I’ve smelled scents with hibiscus before, but this is hibiscus forward, and declaratively so!
  • Dry:  After 3 hours, I’m loving how this has softened into a dark chocolate woody musk with a dribble of wine and a subtle spark of hibiscus and and lightly powder rose.  It’s enjoyable, for sure.

Other Impressions:  [Wet] “What’s that sour red flower? Hibiscus, yeah.  Hibiscus, light powder, a little bit of strawberry…like just a tiny bit with currants. Yes, that’s it. It’s pretty strong, but hibiscus is definitely the dominant scent.” -Tony
