Scent Name: Solanine, the Flower Girl
Manufacturer: Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab – Carnaval Diabolique, Act IV: The Interlude
Scent Description and Notes: “In the distance, you hear the discordant tolling of churchbells, uneven and strangely triumphant. As you turn towards the beckoning clang, you feel something brush across your neck: a gentle caress before a hundred pricking trichomes tear at your skin. There is a sudden whipping sensation and a clench of movement, and your throat is clamped in a rigid green noose.
A raspy voice whispers, “Pardon,” and the grip on you loosens.
A woman stands behind you. She holds a basket overflowing with creeping vines and flowers: razor-thorned roses, vibrant bursts of oleander, drooping cascades of wisteria, sprays of white hemlock and lily of the valley, bruise-blue pillows of aconite, purple-veined henbane, and the snapping jaws of monstrously large flytraps, glistening wet with mucilage. Her clothes smell faintly of manchineel smoke, and her fingertips are stained green. She smiles and shudders as the green tendrils that surround her writhe and contract. She plucks a red-spotted mushroom from her basket and places it gently in your palm before turning away.“ -https://blackphoenixalchemylab.com/shop/carnaval-diabolique/carnaval-diabolique-2015/solanine-the-flower-girl/
Oil Color: A faintly green-tinted oil, like a mossy riverbank with sunlight water flowing over it.

Scent:
- ITI: Gorgeously green, like The Body Shop’s Cucumber scent, not skin but flesh rarified with lilies alongside a damp vague woodiness that might be coming from the aconite. I imagine this is what Poison Ivy might smell like.
- Wet: Mmm, green fresh florals, verdant and crisp alongside perfumed roses and dew-touched lilies of the valley. Gorgeous mix of florals and bright greens.
- Dry: Three hours after application finds the scent decidedly muted, yet still green, floral, and aromatic, now with wisteria and oleander more apparent. There is a sense of murky vines against the lovely florals here, pulsating with life, that is particularly lovely. I do wish the crispness lingered from its wet form, but I like this nonetheless.
Other Impressions: [Wet] “Florist greens. I like it. It’s a really brisk, fresh scent…almost aggressively so. However, I like it. It’s really brisk.” -Tony
